Ken Randall endorses Rob Reynolds for Hardin County Jailer, declaring “Rob is the man for the job”

Did you know that Hardin County has the fifth largest jail in Kentucky which currently houses over 750? Inmates housed there face charges which range from traffic misdemeanors to murder. The jail is a major expense for Hardin County as well. Given that, wouldn’t you want the most qualified person in charge: Rob Reynolds ? Take a look at his web site https://www.robreynoldsforjailer.com and you will see why “Rob is the man for the job”.

Rob worked his way up in the Hardin County Jail starting as a jail deputy to becoming the Captain and Operations Director under previous Jailer Danny Allen. Rob was also a Certified Jail Instructor in over 30 areas such as Use of Force, Constitutional Law, and Jail Standards. Rob also served as the Chief Investigator for the jail and supervised four investigators.

Not content to merely smile, wave, and play the “good old boy”, Rob has identified five primary concerns including programming, infrastructure, overcrowding, training and safety.

In programming, the emphasis will be training and supporting inmates so they will not keep returning to jail. Anger management, empowerment classes, parenting skill classes, and expanded drug addiction treatment will be important parts of this. Overcrowding increases both the jail’s cost endangers jail deputies and inmates alike. Work release and home incarceration for low risk/nonviolent inmates will help reduce this problem.

Having trained and accredited deputy jailers is crucial for the safety of jail deputies and inmates. This accrediting will also provide new revenue through funding and grants. What is the main purpose of any jail other than for our safety? Over the past four years there have been eight escapes from the Hardin County Jail under current Jailer Josh Lindblom. This was the result of poor training and not having the jail staffed at the levels recommended by the American Corrections and Jail Associations. This puts us all at risk.

Picking a County Jailer is not a popularity contest or a matter of “R”‘s and “D”‘s. It’s about about our safety which is why former Jailer Danny Allen, a Democrat, endorses Rob Reynolds.

If you want a truly qualified professional in this important job, then I ask you to join me at the polls on 8 November to elect Rob Reynolds as our next Hardin County Jailer.

-Ken Randall

“He has my vote!” says Toni White in a Letter to the Editor

In a Letter to the Editor, August 12, 2022 in The News Enterprise, Toni White expresses excitement for Jailor Candidate Rob Reynolds.

“I am excited that we have an experienced, qualified candidate running for Hardin County jailer.

After meeting Rob Reynolds and questioning him about his values and experience, I would like to share with you a little bit about him.

After serving 10 years in the U.S. Army and moving to Hardin County, Rob worked 18 years at the Detention Center rising to the rank of captain as operations director. In 2019, he was a security contractor for the Department of Homeland Security assigned to security teams for the government such as the FBI HQ, Drug Enforcement Agency and Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices and federal courthouses.

His plans are to improve education programs and work release programs. He will expand drug treatment and anger management programs, resulting in a more successful inmate release back into society. By expanding and consolidating drug treatment programs by providing 80 beds, this will produce increased revenue for funding needed programs and will reduce the taxes of Hardin County citizens.

Revenue also could be increased by as much as $2.5 million by housing federal inmates. Wow! This could be used to expand building needs and eliminate overcrowding.

Rob Reynolds wants professional agency credentialing with the American Corrections and Jail Associations to improve the standard of jail staff. This in turn also creates more revenue sources through funding and grants with training through state and federal programs, enabling jail investigators greater knowledge and better skills making the jail more efficient.

In regards to safety, this candidate wants to install fencing around critical areas to reduce opportunities for escapes. He says accrediting the jail and staff with ACA/AJA reccommendations will provide institutional security. K-9 programs and Special Response Team will directly impact Narcotics Eradication goals and increase jail safety.

What more could you want? He has my vote. What about yours?”

Retired Jailer Makes Recommendation

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to vote for and elect Rob Reynolds as your Republican Candidate for Hardin County Jailer in the May 17, 2022 Primary.

As your Jailer, that person is responsible for every person who comes through the jail doors. They have no control over how is arrested, but they and their staff of deputy jailers try their very best to be honest, fair and ensure equal treatment of every person. The jailer is responsible to house 750 inmates daily and keep the public safe from these people who made bad decisions and/or may be a danger to public safety.

Rob Reynolds is the only candidate with more than 18 years of experience at the Hardin County Detention Center. He has worked himself up through the ranks to the position of captain, the highest ranking supervisor over jail operations, who works with deputies and inmates daily to ensure all tasks are completed. Rob has the education, knowledge and willingness to make sure the jail operates safely and efficiently. He also looks and acts professional, is well-spoken and will represent Hardin County as Jailer in a professional manner.

I am asking you to vote for Rob Reynolds for Hardin County Jailer and please support him in the May Primary. Running a campaign is very expensive. I have and will be supporting him financially in his run for office. I thank you for your support and concern as Hardin County residents and voters.

— Danny Allen, Retired Hardin County Jailer, Cecilia
